This example is from 2016, when the topic was “Experiencing God’s Presence”

Friday, March 4th

“No one has ever seen God.  If we love each other, God remains in us and his love is made perfect in us.”  1 John 4:12

When have I experienced God’s presence? Could it be what we call a moment of grace?

While I was sitting on a beach in Maine, an unknown young man approached me with a handful of yellow wildflowers and said, “This is for you.” Totally unexpected, a pleasant surprise, a random act of kindness.

On a frigid winter’s day grieving for a lost dog, I looked out my window and saw a red fox sitting on the snow. An unexpected joy.

Does it come from within, as when a thought suddenly comes to mind to contact a friend with whom I’ve been out of touch or to take on a new and challenging volunteer job?

Do we let moments of grace speak to us or just let them pass by, unnoticed and unappreciated?

God, grant that I may recognize your presence in my life.  Help me to see your spirit in the acts of loving kindness of people around me.  May I give thanks and pass on the kindness to others.   Amen
