A lot of us at College Street are gifted with words and pictures and faith, and our Lenten Devotionals give us a chance to share that with each other!
As we have in years past, we’re putting together a booklet for Lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday, March 6. The booklet will include a short devotional for each day in Lent. In addition, anyone who wants may sign up to get each day’s devotional by email.
This year, our theme is Peace. What does peace mean to you? What gives you peace? Where have you found peace? What are some challenges to peace? You have something important to share.
Each submission should begin with a Scripture – you are free to choose one (or a bit of one) on the list below, or to include another that seems relevant to you. Then, each submission may be art, photos, or words. If you write, please limit your submission to 300 words. Submissions may be edited for length if necessary (you will have a chance to review them). Finally, you may close on a brief word of prayer. Note that you don’t need to explain the Scripture, though you may if that’s what you feel inspired to do.
If you want to see an example of one from past years, please click here.
In order to put the book together, we need submissions by February 4th. Please send your work to email@example.com. You can send questions about the process to the same address, or you can contact Stephanie Dorgan directly.
Here are some Scriptures that talk about Peace. They are linked to the NRSV translation; you are welcome to use these or any other Scriptures (or translations) that you find connect you to peace.
